Mixed Combative Systems is a martial art system that is a blend of different various styles. MCS was developed by Master / Coach Brando Castillo through his studies in Hapkido, Kickboxing, Jujitsu, and Filipino Escrima.

Since 2006, MCS has opened it’s doors in the city of American Canyon, California and has participated in several competitions across the Bay Area and other regions.

PROGRAM

Within the program, students will receive an excellent workout regimen that covers strength training, cardio and endurance. As you develop your skills and self-confidence,  it comes with a great deal of responsibilities we call self-control and humility.

WHAT WE TEACH

Mixed Combative Systems teaches a hybrid form of self-defense that is based on Filipino Martial Arts Methology. It is a non-static but rather fluid Kickboxing based style that flows into the trapping range which works into the locks, throws, takedowns and ground submissions of Dumog, Hapkido, and Jujitsu.

Simulation and reactive drills are excellent tools that you'll use in your training but the highest level is the ability to train / spar with a non-cooperative partner through real time and intention that is applied in a safe training environment.

   KICKBOXING, JIU-JITSU AND ESCRIMA

On some days you'll train on individual styles so that you can understand the pure application of each defined martial art style.

In Kickboxing, students learn how to hit focus mitts, bags and kicking shields. MCS utilizes pure kickboxing training methods and applications. MCS has participated in several kickboxing/muay thai tournaments.

In Jiu-jitsu, you'll learn a basic approach to submission grappling. 100 % of fights start standing up but 90% of them end up on the ground so learning ground fighting is essential.

In Escrima Stickfighting, students will utilize various ways of training such as bag work, sprints and more to ensure that they are 100% ready for competition. Since 2006, MCS has produced numerous local, regional, nationals and world champions in Full Contact Escrima Stickfighting.
